2. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry-India&##39;s Apex Business Organisation
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) was established in 1927, on the advice of Mahatma Gandhi, to garner support for India¡¯s independence and to further the interests of the Indian business community. Starting with 24 members, the number rose to 103 by 1947.
3. Federation of Indian Export Organisation-India&##39;s Premier Institution for International Trade
The Federation of Indian Export Organisations represents the Indian entrepreneurs&##39; spirit of enterprise in the global market. Set up in October, 1965, the Federation, known popularly as "FIEO", has kept pace with the country&##39;s evolving economic and trade policies, and provided the content, direction and thrust to India&##39;s expanding international trade. As the apex body of all Indian export promotion organisations, FIEO works as a partner of the Government of India to promote Indian exports.
4. Marine Product Export Development Authority-INDIA
The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) was constituted in 1972 under the Marine Products Export Development Authority Act 1972 (No.13 of 1972). The role envisaged for the MPEDA under the statute is comprehensive - covering fisheries of all kinds, increasing exports, specifying standards, processing, marketing, extension and training in various aspects of the industry.
5. India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)
India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) is synonymous with the country&##39;s trade promotion around the world all round the year. Indeed at ITPO, the promotion of trade is an exacting mission, translating into a search for new frontiers and new horizons in the world of commercial interactions, both at macro and micro levels. A mission that finds expression in the successful organisation of trade exhibitions in India and abroad, buyer-seller meets, promotion through department stores, contact promotion and product development programmes apart from dissemination of information on products and markets.
