In this connection, we forward herewith a copy each
of the Notification No.FEMA.63/2002-RB dated June
21, 2002 and A.P.(DIR series) Circular No.28 dated
October 3, 2002 issued permitting a unit located in
a Special Economic Zone to open, hold and maintain
a Foreign Currency Account with an authorised dealer
in India subject to certain conditions. It may be
observed therefrom that no restrictions have been
placed on opening, maintaining and holding of any
type of account/deposit by a unit in SEZ.
